Meryl Streep escaped the wrath of LA fires that began earlier this month with a smart plan.
In an essay by her nephew Abe Streep, he penned in detail on how the Devil Wears Prada star got to safety during the ravaging wildfires.
In the piece published by the New York Magazine on Tuesday, January 28, the author recalled that the Oscar-winning actress received an evacuation order on January 8.
As she was about to leave, the Only Murders in the Building actress came to know that her driveway was closed because a large tree had fallen over in, “blocking her only exit.”
However, that does not stop her from escaping, and she reaches out to her neighbor for help.
“Determined to make it out, she borrowed wire cutters from a neighbor, cut a car-size hole in the fence she shared with the neighbors on the other side, and drove through their yard to escape,” her nephew, Abe, wrote.
Streep, 75, was one of the many celebrities forced to leave their homes due to the apocalyptic LA fires that reportedly burned over 23,000 acres in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood after it started on January 7.
