ZZZ 1.6 is the sixth major update to hit the gacha game, and it already promises to bring some major story developments for Anby and Von Lycaon. We’ve got all the latest news following the Zenless Zone Zero livestream for version 1.6, including upcoming characters for our Zenless Zone tier list, the next banners, and more.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 release date
The Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 release date was Thursday, March 13, 2025. This update went live at 7pm PT / 10pm ET / 3am GMT / 4am CET / 2pm AEDT.
ZZZ’s servers go offline for scheduled maintenance for approximately five hours before the next update. HoYoverse usually compensates players with free banner currency for every hour the servers are down, so remember to check your mailbox for ZZZ Polychrome now that 1.6 is live.
HoYoverse’s gacha games run on a six-week rotation, and we expect the 1.6 update to conclude on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 livestream
The Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 livestream aired on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 3:30am PT / 6:30am ET / 11:30am GMT / 12:30pm CET / 10:30pm AEDT.
This pre-release special program included Zenless Zone Zero codes for players to redeem for a limited time following the broadcast.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 banners

The Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 banners include:
- Soldier 0 – Anby (Electric, Attack)
- Burnice (Fire, Anomaly)
- Trigger (Electric, Stun)
- Zhu Yuan (Ether, Attack)
Their signature S-Rank Zenless Zone Zero W-Engines will be available to pull from the accompanying weapon banner. The Zenless Zone Zero Bangboo for Obol Squad won’t debut in version 1.6, but we expect it to arrive sooner rather than later.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 story
The ZZZ 1.6 story takes us into the militaristic past of New Eridu, as we finally discover Anby’s murky origins as captain of the Silver Squad Defense Force prior to the fall of the Old Capital. This plotline also delves into her relationship with doppelganger Soldier 11, the only other survivor of Obsidian Division, along with the introduction of Trigger, Obol Squad’s ace sniper.
We’ll also see a hostile reunion between Von Lycaon and Hugo Vlad, our favorite canines oldest friend. Between Vlad’s pointed ears and sharp canines, this dapper dandy has a touch of the vampiric about him, and he’s up to no good in version 1.6. He’s also in the accompaniment of Vivian, a mysterious red-eyed girl toting a parasol whose outfit suggests a surprise connection to the Victoria Housekeeping Co. It’s unclear why these two oddballs have teamed up, but Vlad is undoubtedly our next big boss challenge.
Meanwhile, Belle and Wise are set to attend an auction to secure a mysterious artifact that could finally solve the mystery behind Sacrifice. This unlikely commission from the Mayor of New Eridu pits Phaethon against Mockingbird, the phantom thief syndicate faction that’s intent on seizing it for its own ends.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 events
Zenless Zone Zero events are limited-time commissions, scenarios, and alternate game modes that allow Proxies to pick up rare and unique rewards. Some events are announced in name only, so watch out for them as and when they appear in the RPG game.
