The Big Bang Theory franchise upcoming spin-off series starring Kevin Sussman as Stuart Bloom, has recently dropped its title.
The comedy sitcom which is still in work, will be titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, as per Deadline.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, extends the trend of every Big Bang Theory spinoff being named after its main character(s), following in the footsteps of Young Sheldon and its offshoot Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
The series is also the first to be connected thematically to the moniker of the 2007-19 mothership series, The Big Bang Theory.
In addition to Sussman, other Big Bang alums include Lauren Lapkus, who plays Stuart’s girlfriend Denise, Brian Posehn (Bert Kibbler) and John Ross Bowie (Barry Kripke).
The new series is written and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, co-creator and executive producer of Big Bang and all of its spinoffs to date.
In The Big Bang Theory, Sussman’s character, Stuart Bloom, is socially awkward and self-deprecating owner of a comic book store, who is often struggling financially and romantically. He later finds happiness when he starts dating Denise.
