Quinta Brunson’s marriage with her husband, Kevin Jay Anik, has come to an end after three years of marriage.
Entertainment Weekly reported on Thursday, March 20, that Brunson, who is helming Abbott Elementary as a creator, producer and actor, filed for a divorce following her October 2021 nuptials.
According to court documents reviewed by the outlet, the cause of the estranged couple’s separation is “irreconcilable differences.”
The actress who plays Janine Teagues, a second-grade school teacher and optimistic lead of the mockumentary sitcom, does not share any children with Anik, whom she dated for several years before finally tying the knot, only to break up after three years.
After keeping things under the radar for quite some time, Brunson confirmed the private couple’s wedding during the 2022 Emmys.
“In case I am not back up here again, I have to thank my mom, dad, brother and sisters, my cousins…my wonderful husband because he’s the most supportive man I’ve ever known,” she gushed over in her acceptance speech for the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series award.
Since confirming her longtime relationship, Brunson, 35, opened up and raved over her “supportive” husband in a few interviews over the years.
