What is the best Assassin’s Creed Shadows armor? Naoe and Yasuke will quite literally have to roll with the punches (and the katanas… and the kanabos) as they quest across feudal Japan. To say they’re going to need proper protective gear is an understatement.
In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll want to track down armor pieces that not only look good, but also keep you alive in the RPG game. Unsurprisingly, the best AC Shadows armor pieces are Legendary tier due to the powerful unique passives that they carry. Many of these pieces feature in our best AC Shadows builds, so you know they’re top-class.
Here is the best armor in Assassin’s Creed Shadows:
- Peasant Hat
- Tools Master Gear
- Noh Masterstroke Mask
- Mamushi Snake Robes
- Legendary Onna-musha Kosode
- Elegant Samurai Hat
- Destroyer Samurai Helmet
- Master Archer Headband
- Protector’s Helmet
- Protector’s Armor
- Master Archer Outfit
- Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend
Peasant Hat
The first Legendary headgear we came across on our journey, the Peasant Hat guarantees you’ll never find yourself short on adrenaline when entering combat. This is incredibly useful, particularly in the early hours when you don’t have tons of AC Shadows skills and passive damage buffs to rely on.
Tools Master Gear
You’ll often find pairs of guards guarding entrances and other spaces in Shadows. The Tools Master Gear’s ability to swiftly remove both at once makes it a solid early-game armor piece for Naoe, especially if you aren’t running a Tanto and haven’t invested in the Double Assassinate skill.
Noh Masterstroke Mask
Affliction builds can be incredibly potent, and if you set it up just right the Noh Masterstroke Mask ensures a steady stream of adrenaline trickles back into Naoe’s segments. Combine this with an engraved Winds of War Kusarigama, lock in Katsuhime as your ally for a daze-focused setup, and go wild.
Mamushi Snake Robes
If daze doesn’t do it for you, then the old faithful affliction, poison, should. The Mamushi Snake Robes are devious, dare we say diabolical, as they turn a freshly-assassinated corpse into a poisonous trap that’s triggered when the body’s investigated. Throw it down behind a group, whistle to get their attention, and watch them slowly die one by one.
Legendary Onna-musha Kosode
One of the best ways to dispatch enemies in Shadows is by knocking them down and dealing massive, often life-ending damage with a floor attack. While Naoe won’t quite be knocking over the big boys in the Legendary Onna-musha Kosode, it’ll turn small fry into glorified bowling pins.
Elegant Samurai Hat
If you love taking on large groups of enemies at once, the Elegant Samurai Hat will do some serious heavy lifting towards keeping you alive. Offering up a solid 5% damage reduction per enemy, you’ll typically receive around 15-25% based on the fact Shadows likes to throw smaller groups at you.
Destroyer Samurai Helmet
Taking less damage is fun, but not nearly as fun as trading health for damage and going full-berserker and clapping enemies. The Destroyer Samurai Helmet is aptly named; if you can manage your health bar properly, expect to dish out big DPS.
Master Archer Headband
If you’re a crack shot with a bow or teppo, then the Master Archer Headband is a sure-fire way to chain together headshots. In essence, it slows time with every dink to the cranium for every eight seconds. This might not be broken enough to ensure bullet time is all the time, but it’s incredibly powerful nonetheless.
Protector’s Helmet
The best early helmet pickup for Yasuke is undoubtedly the Protector’s Helmet, especially when utilized with the Protector’s Armor. While set bonuses don’t exist in Shadows, this two-piece combo is more than potent enough to make up for it. The helmet uses your opponent’s strength against them, reflecting 50% of the damage you would’ve taken on parry.
Protector’s Armor
Meanwhile, the Protector’s Armor has one of the most overtly strong passives of any piece of protective gear in the game. While equipped, Yasuke can parry unblockable attacks, practically making him immune to melee attacks as long as your timing’s decent.
Master Archer Outfit
While we haven’t come across many armor pieces that improve Yasuke’s ranged capabilities on our travels, the Master Archer Outfit could be the only one you’ll ever need. Providing a whopping 200% ranged damage boost while out of combat, Yasuke becomes an absolutely lethal sniper.
Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend
The Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend deserves a spot on this list for its name alone. It’s also a fantastic bit of kit if you want to absolutely maximize your damage output while throwing caution to the wind. Yasuke has plenty of health regen in his kit, and there are a ton of engravings that can help mitigate the armor’s weakness. The pros outweigh the cons, so grab this zesty garb when you can.
