Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has shared an adorable glimpse into his family life by revealing what his children affectionately call Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.
The 41-year-old father-of-three, who welcomed his daughter Athena Elizabeth Rose last week, took to social media to express his joy after the birth.
Buckingham Palace officially announced the arrival of the couple’s second child, Athena, on January 22.
The statement read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born at 12:57pm. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.”
Following the announcement, Sarah Ferguson shared her excitement on social media, with Edoardo commenting on her post, calling the Duchess “The best Gigi” along with a heart emoji.
This sweet revelation suggests that his children, including his eldest son Wolfie, as well as Sienna and newborn Athena, refer to Sarah Ferguson as “Gigi.”
Edoardo’s first child, Wolfie, is from his previous relationship with architect Dara Huang. Edoardo and Princess Beatrice, who married in 2020, currently live in the Cotswolds, though they also have a residence at St. James’s Palace in London.
