What are the best Fortnite skins? Everyone has their personal preference, but in the years since the debut of Fortnite, Epic has rolled out tons of iconic original skins and partnered with artists, movies, and TV shows to attract more fans to the multiplayer game.

The sheer amount of Fortnite skins is astounding, giving players a near-endless way to express themselves in the battle royale game before they’ve fired a single shot. Each event and update brings multiple skins to help cosmetic lovers stack up their inventory, and then there are Fortnite Festival skins and Lego Fortnite skins to boot. So, to help you figure out who to buy when they next appear in the Item Shop, here are over 100 of the best Fortnite skins ever.

In August 2024, Epic made it possible to purchase skins that have appeared in older Battle Passes after 18 months have passed. This change is in effect as of Chapter 5, Season 4.

Monks

Come on. How could anyone not consider this one of the best skins in Fortnite? A cute and comfy sock monkey, Monks is adorably ragged with their untidy stitching and replaced leg. When the sock monkey is around, be sure to grab them, as this is surely the cosiest Fortnite skin.

• Availability: Monks has been around for some time but hasn’t made a huge amount of appearances in the Item Shop considering the time since their release.

Big Dill

Big Dill doesn’t seem to have been held back by his feud with T-Pain, and is the star of the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 battle pass. So far, there are three Big Dill skins, but we’re fans of anything hot, so particularly love the spicy-red chamoy hot sauce version.

• Availability: Big Dill and his chamoy counterpart are available as part of the Chapter 6 Season 2 battle pass. There is also a bonus skin, Dillinger the Gherk.

Johnny Silverhand

Naturally, Keanu Reeves appears on this list more than once as the iconic John Wick Fortnite skin could not be overlooked. However, we think he may have been dethroned as coolest Fortnite skin since the addition of Reeves’ Cyberpunk 2077 character Johnny Silverhand in Chapter 6, Season 1. Silverhand appears alongside a version of player character V, and you can even get his guitar for use in Fortnite Festival and a Cyberpunk vehicle.

• Availability: Being a standard shop item, Johnny Silverhand and V can appear in the Item Shop at any time.

Star Wars skins

There are literally hundreds of Star Wars cosmetics in Fortnite now, including Back Blings, Pickaxes, and more, making it one of the biggest Fortnite crossovers of all. Naturally, which skins you want depend on your franchise preferences – are you part of the Empire or the Rebellion? Below, we’ve listed any Star Wars skins that you can still obtain on rotation from the Item Shop, and others you see in-game would have been rewards that are, sadly, no longer available, including Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian, and Darth Vader.

This cool skin was first introduced in Chapter 6 Season 1 as part of the Japanese-inspired Hunters season, and features distinct Samurai flourishes. Vader can be purchased alone or as part of the Star Wars Samurai bundle which includes the Stormtrooper Samurai skin to boot.

• Availability: These interesting new Star Wars skins are on standard rotation in the Item Shop and can appear at any time, though most likely alongside other Japanese-inspired events.

Platinum Billie Eilish

Many of our favorite musical icons have appeared in Fortnite, especially since the launch of Fortnite Festival. Billie Eilish first appeared in Fortnite Festival Season 3 showing off her iconic green roots, before being added with her red roots in Chapter 5 Season 2. However, we love the newest Billie skin, Platinum Billie, making her debut in Chapter 6.

Juice WRLD

The grand finale of Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is dedicated to the late, great Juice WRLD, and the rapper’s new skin is a must-grab if you’re a fan of his music. You do already get the cel-shaded Slayer Juice WRLD outfit for free, but if the aesthetic isn’t to your liking then you know what to do.

Snoop Dogg completed life a long time ago, and the legendary rapper has been crossing off his side quests since. Having finally made his way into Fortnite, Snoop’s Icon Series outfit can be snagged from the shop – forget being a dog person, you’re a Dogg person now thanks to his unique ‘The Dogg’ cosmetic setting.

Meowdas

Both Meowscles and Midas are listed in various forms below, but we couldn’t not immediately add the adorable, quiffed Meowdas – a combination of the two – to this list as soon as he appeared in Chapter 5, Season 5. As part of the Battle Pass, he can be unlocked by earning XP across Fortnite modes, but this also means Meowdas is among the first Battle Pass skins that could appear in Item Shop rotation at least 18-months from his release: around May 2026.

• Availability: Meowdas was first available in the Chapter 5, Season 5 Battle Pass, but could appear in the Item Shop from May 2026.

Doctor Doom

One of the coldest villains of all time, Doctor Doom snagged himself not only a shiny cosmetic line-up in Fortnite, but an entire season dedicated to his dastardly deeds – Chapter 5, Season 4: Absolute Doom.

• Availability: The base Doctor Doom skins are sadly unavailable in the Item Shop as they were available both as part of the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass, and again during challenges in Chapter 5, Season 4. However, the Doom 2099 skin can be purchased from shop rotation.

Gwenpool

Gwendolyn Poole may hail from an alternate version of our reality, but the fourth wall-subverting merc somehow managed to tumble into the Prime Marvel Universe. Though she isn’t the most proficient fighter at first, Gwenpool’s ability to manipulate her own comic gives her the means to retcon her reality – a living deus ex machina. Now you too can embody Gwenpool in-game, and she features all sorts of styles (plus a sweet Lego variant).

• Availability: Gwenpool and her style variants were all first available in the Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass. She may appear in the Item Shop in the future.

Deadpool & Wolverine (Pen & Ink)

We think we can all agree that Deadpool & Wolverine was freaking awesome, and now there’s a new version of the Merc with the Mouth and his best friend Peanut for you to pick up W’s with. Both characters can be played with masks on or off, while Deadpool can also have an arrow sticking out of his head – that’s peak comedy.

• Availability: Deadpool and Wolverine’s Pen & Ink skins are available through the Store either separately or as part of the Deadpool & Wolverine Bundle.

Pirates of the Caribbean

What a collection we have here, eh, mate? The Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean skins include two variants of (Captain) Jack Sparrow – standard and cursed – alongside outfits for Elizabeth Swann, Captain Barbossa, and Davey Jones. While both Jacks were acquired via the Cursed Sails Pass, the remaining swashbucklers can all be press-ganged in the store. Each skin also comes with a Lego variant.

• Availability: Jack Sparrow and Cursed Jack Sparrow were both available as part of the Cursed Sails battle pass, so are not available in the Item Shop. Other styles were added through the in-game store.

Metallica bundle

As part of the Fortnite Festival Season 4 pass, you could get all the skins for the heavy metal band’s current members. While Lars was free for everyone who got the pass, you needed to play the Festival mode to pick up enough points to earn the other three skins. In addition, there are premium Puppet Master variants for all four band members, with a yellow and black skull design.

• Availability: If you weren’t around for the Season 4 Festival Pass, fear not – the Metallica bundle is on rotation in the Item Shop, so has a chance to appear at any time.

T-60 Power Armor

It’s perhaps fitting that a post-apocalypse-themed season would also include a collaboration with the Fallout franchise. As part of the Wrecked! Battle Pass, you could unlock the T-60 Power Armor that the Brotherhood of Steel faction wears in the Fallout games.

• Availability: As a Battle Pass skin before Item Shop changes came into play, the T-60 Power Armor outfit may never appear in the Item Shop.

The Employee

Straight from Lethal Company, the co-op game that took the world by storm in 2023, “The Employee” is a man in a suit with an oxygen tank, scanning the wasteland for any precious loot that he can bring back to his ship and sell for profit.

• Availability: Available on rotation in the Item Shop, so can appear at any time.
• First appearance: Chapter 5, Season 3

Avatar The Last Airbender

One of the greatest animes of all time, Avatar: The Last Airbender is having somewhat of a revival, with a live-action remake hitting Netflix in February 2024, and an as-yet-untitled movie revival coming set for 2025. Alongside all of that, Airbender hit Fortnite with Korra Battle Pass quests and a new Waterbending move.

• Availability: Korra and her Balanced style were both available as part of the Chapter 5 Season 2 Battle Pass bonus quests, so can no longer be obtained. Other styles were later added through the in-game store, though, and may reappear in the future.

Metal Gear Solid

Snake, in his classic MGS1 outfit and MGS4 Old Snake costume, appears in the battle royale game as the master of stealth. We also see MGS2’s star, Raiden, featuring his samurai sword back bling and diving mask for the full stealthy experience.

• Availability: Snake and Old Snake were part of the Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass, so are unavailable to buy going forward. Raiden can appear in the Item Shop.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Collaborations aren’t new in Fortnite, and neither are the turtles new to appearing in other games, as we’ve seen them most recently in Street Fighter 6. In Fortnite, the team were first introduced via the Battle Pass, with separate side quests giving you the Shredder skin as well.

All other characters were added via the in-game shop, with bundles making the deal a little sweeter. If you’re a fan of Lego Fortnite, these skins will work there too.

• Availability: All four turtles are available in a bundle or separately when they appear in the in-game shop. April O’Neil and Splinter are available separately. Shredder outfit and Super Shredder variant were available in a separate premium pass.

Deadpool

In February 2020, Deadpool joined the ranks of the many Marvel crossover characters made playable in Fortnite. To secure the ‘merc with a mouth’ skin, you had to complete some weekly challenges in the Battle Pass. Deadpool was a hugely successful crossover skin for players eager to become the anti-hero, and, unsurprisingly, the iconic red and black suit became a rare skin to acquire and wear across The Island.

• Availability: Deadpool was originally available as part of the Chapter 2 Season 2 weekly challenges, so is unlikely to ever appear in the Item Shop.

Mizuki

One of the more recent skins to secure a place in our Fortnite best skins list is Mizuki from Chapter 4 Season 2. Part of the River Guard set, Mizuki was unlockable at tier 100 alongside a deadly fan made of knives, a fancy winged glider, and neon orb back bling. Chapter 4 Season 2 was the MEGA season in Fortnite inspired by Japan, futurism, and sci-fi, which all played a part in crafting this excellent skin.

• Availability: As an old Battle Pass skin, there is sadly little to no chance that Mizuki will appear in the in-game store.

Spider-Man

When your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man swung his way into Fortnite just before Christmas 2021, it was immediately sought after as another epic Marvel x Fortnite crossover skin. There have been many more Spider-Man multiverse skins released since, like Miles Morales for Across the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man 2099, but for our best Fortnite skins, we’re talking about the OG. He’s an iconic superhero; what’s not to love?

• Availability: Another Battle Pass skin, Spidey does not have a chance of reappearing in the Item Shop if you missed him the first time.

Demogorgon

Stranger Things hit the Fortnite item shop in 2019 with the Demogorgon and Chief Hopper up for grabs (special shoutout to Hopper) to tie in with the release of the show’s third season. A standout skin in Fortnite, as it probably would be in any setting, the Demogorgon is a perfect scary aesthetic to spook players out across the map. Or, just take advantage of its weird face-opening emote capabilities.

• Availability: The Demogorgon skin popped up in the item shop in November 2019, a few months after Season 9 ended. It was also brought back to celebrate Stranger Things Day on November 6, 2023, and can reappear at any time.
• First appearance: Chapter 1: Season 9

Lexa

The first of many anime skins to be released in Fortnite, Lexa holds her spot in the best Fortnite skins for introducing players to the unique cosmetic look that has inspired many since (see Naruto and Goku elsewhere on our list). Unlocked at level 73 of the battle pass, Lexa was a Chapter 2: Season 5 only release. In August 2023, Princess Lexa, a revamped look, became available for anyone joining the Fortnite Crew, the game’s monthly subscription service.

• Availability: As an old Battle Pass skin, Lexa will not appear for purchase in the Item Shop.
• First appearance: Chapter 2, Season 5

Omega

Omega changed the game, quite literally. For Omega, Epic Games introduced something a little different for the first time: a progressive skin. Alongside Carbide, released in the same season, players were given the ability to evolve a skin by leveling up and completing challenges outside of just unlocking them. Stage by stage, the Omega skin transforms into full battle gear, but you can wear him however you want.

• Availability: Since Omega was available originally as part of an older Battle Pass, there is no chance he can appear in the Item Shop.

Plague

Adorning the plague doctor attire with medicinal equipment hung around its belt, the Plague skin is a great combination of creepy, sneaky, and historical. The Plague skin was reportedly shelved during the pandemic, disappearing between Jan 2020 and Jan 2023, but now returning more frequently to the item shop. Its beaked mask and long cape will hopefully ward off any more diseases.

• Availability: Plague is a frequent visitor of the item shop, and can appear at any time, so keep checking in.

Meowscles

A bit like Peely, Meowscles isn’t the rarest of Fortnite skins, but it’s most certainly carved a place in players’ hearts. The same goes for Epic Games, who have since bought out a whole bunch of Meowscles-themed skins to accompany the giant muscled feline: a little brother, a love story, a son, and a purr-ty cool summer variant, too. Meowscles, a cat with massive abs, smart trousers, and a tiny head just epitomizes the kind of fun whimsy that Fortnite is known for.

• Availability: The original Meowscles is not available in the Item Shop, but other variants are sometimes available to buy, including Halloween skin Phantom Meowscles.

Raven

Brooding master of the dark skies, Raven’s black leather get-up and eerie glowing purple eyes have lured in many players to run this Fortnite skin as one of their favorites. Raven is available alone or in the Nevermore set alongside its female counterpart, Ravage.

Drift

Another popular progressive for our list and a piece of true Fortnite nostalgia from season 5 is Drift. Layer by foxy layer, Drift transforms from a quiff mohawk vest-wearing muscle man (akin to Johnny Bravo)  into a fully masked, long neon gold coat-wearing fox-looking skin. With multiple styles and an early battle pass unlock, it gave players a chance to aim for something with 200,000 XP needed to get the full skin.

Eternal Voyager

Every Fortnite skin is unique, but the futuristic astronaut, alien, and neon futuristic Fortnite skin that is Eternal Voyager has become a firm favorite for its mash-up of distinctive styles. A remixed version of the Dark Voyager from Season 3, you can strip back the mask with Eternal Voyager’s unlockables, and the skin gets better and better.

• Availability: Eternal Voyager was only available as part of the Season X Battle Pass, so is no longer available in its original form.

Naruto skins

When Fortnite released the Naruto skins, they meant business. The Fortnite x Naruto collab was a big deal, and a bundle of Naruto skins was available to buy from the item shop in one lovely set for 19,300 V-Bucks. You could get them separately, though, as well as a bunch of nostalgic cosmetics, including a Demon Wind Shuriken back bling and some spicy Kunai pickaxes. Naruto lovers descend.

Michonne

An unexpected crossover for Fortnite fans and a big surprise in 2021 came when The Walking Dead’s Rick, Daryl, and Michonne entered the item shop. For our best Fortnite skins list, though, Michonne stood out from the pack. You really can’t knock being able to prowl around The Island, katana in hand and another strapped to your back.

• Availability: The Michonne skin has been in the item shop a bunch of times, so you have a chance of bagging this outfit in the future.

Carbide

We mentioned the Carbide skin back in our Omega entry, but to delve in a little more, Carbide was the tier one unlock and another shining example of Chapter 1: Season 4 intro to progressive skins. In five stages of armor, Carbide gets bulkier and bulkier with added blue neons, a full mask adorned, and ready for action. It’s a favorite among players and a rare one at that.

• Availability: Unfortunately, Carbide was only available on Chapter 1: Season 4 battle pass alongside all the unlocks.

John Cena

In 2022, John Cena – The Champ, Mr. P, the WWE icon – made it into Fortnite in a sort of,you-can’t-believe-what-you’re-looking-at-but-you-need-it kind of skin. It pops up a lot in the item shop, giving players the chance to run it, and for an extra 500 V-Bucks, the bundle comes with the WWE Championship title belt, his trademark U Can’t C Me emote, and the Five Digit Slapper pickaxe.

Spider-Gwen

We talked about Spider-Man in our list, and maybe you thought we wouldn’t get around to the main lady herself, but here we are. Spider-Gwen joined the collection of Marvel crossover skins three seasons after Spider-Man with the release of both a masked and unmasked Gwen Stacy. Taking the top spot on the battle pass with a tier 100 unlock, where some of the best Fortnite skins on our list live.

• Availability: As a battle pass release, Spider-Gwen isn’t available for purchase from the item shop. If you got far enough into the battle pass at the time, you also have a few colorways to choose from.

Fishstick

There’s just something about those fishy arms and spindly legs that’s reeled players into wearing and loving this skin. That’s a sure sign that Epic Games knows what the players want and keeps providing the goods.

• Availability: Fishstick has been around since 2018 and continues to show up in the item shop year after year. So, if it’s on your wishlist, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s a skin you’ll most certainly get your hands on with many variants available.

Master Chief

Fortnite is no stranger to gaming crossovers, and Halo’s Master Chief is an iconic skin for fans of the franchise. Joining the Gaming Legends series alongside skins like The Witcher’s Yennefer, the Street Fighter skins we’ll discuss below, and Borderlands Psycho Bandit, Master Chief is in good company. Red Knight

Street Fighter skins

Like Master Chief, the Gaming Legends series also brought out the iconic Street Fighter set, introduced across a fair few chapters and bringing some of the top-tier Street Fighter characters to the world of Fortnite. Ryu and the built-in Shoryuken! Emote, Chun-Li laying down the law with her lightning kicks, and multi-styled Cammy and her camo attire. A great set for Capcom fans.

• Availability: The Street Fighter skins do appear in the Item Shop occasionally, but they’re fairly rare, so grab them when you get the chance.

It’s a celebrity skin that a lot of players love for her glitter and grace.

• Availability: Ariana has reappeared in the item shop a fair amount, so chances of buying her are high, but you’ll need to invest in some V-Bucks to do so, as she’ll set you back 2,000.

Skull Trooper and friends

The first ever skin in the item shop is still up for grabs regularly. Skull Trooper is a bit of Halloween all year round. In the full skeleton attire with a bunch of different styles available, you can creep around in this one as long as you’ve set your calendar reminder for its Item Shop availability – usually every time Fortnitemares rolls around.

• Availability: Six years of item shop appearances and going strong, but you should hit up the Item Shop round spooky season for the best chance at grabbing this skin for yourself.

Xenomorph

There’s something about these Fortnite crossover skins, and Xenomorph from Alien is no exception. • Availability: Lots of item shop appearances for Xenomorph with no rhyme or reason, so keep an eye out.

Dragon Ball Super

The crossover with Dragon Ball Super is another standout anime for the best Fortnite skins list. Goku’s skin is so iconic that it’d be surprising if it didn’t have a spot on our list, and the other legendary outfits get even better, given they still show up in the item shop. It’s the Goku that you know and love, and now villains, such as Frieza, Cell, and Goku Black.

• Availability: Lots of item shop appearances for Goku with built-in charging-up emote to make you feel powerful after parting with some mega V-Bucks for the privilege. Other DBZ characters have also appeared since, with Cell and Frieza appearing over the 2023 holiday season.

Marigold

If you’re a fan of the Midas skins featured earlier on our list, then you might also be a fan of the female counterpart, Marigold, who joined the Fortnite ranks as part of the Golden Touch Challenge pack. Her skin was inspired by Twitter user kitsunexkitsu, comes with a bunch of backstory tidbits to unwind, and has some glorious gold features to tie up her gothic black and white attire. She does appear in the Item Shop, but for purchase as part of the paid Golden Touch Quest Pack rather than for V-Bucks.

• Availability: Marigold does appear in the Item Shop from time to time, but she’s another rare sight, so pick her up if you get the chance.

Calamity

Calamity is another progressive skin that goes through a total transformation. From a simple vest and shorts skin to a full leather black look with neon accents, players can choose which stage they run. The classic llama farmer evolves into a badass skin with a bunch of colorways, but sadly is no longer available if you didn’t get her way back in Chapter 1.

• Availability: Another rare skin for the ranks, Calamity was only available during Chapter 1: Season 6, and that’s it.

Mystique

When Mystique was released on Fortnite as another Marvel collaboration, she came with her unique X-Men superpower to lure in players, and that was the ability to transform into the skin of the player you recently killed for a short amount of time. The Shapeshift built-in emote was a surefire way to rank Mystique as one of Fortnite’s best skin, let alone the fact she’s another iconic Marvel character.

• Availability: The only way to acquire Mystique was by unlocking the skin at tier 80 in the battle pass during Chapter 2 Season 4. If you didn’t do it back in 2020, you won’t have a chance now.

Scarlet Witch

Another excellent Marvel x Fortnite skin is Scarlet Witch. For players keen to play as Wanda Maximoff herself, it’s yet another skin to offer a new way to enjoy some of your favorite superheroes. Released in line with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda joined the shop alongside Doctor Strange, but there’s just something about that Scarlet Witch skin that feels luminous.

• Availability: With so many rare skins in our best Fortnite skins list, it’s always nice when one turns up in the item shop a fair amount, and Scarlet Witch does not disappoint.

Magnus

Magnus, the Viking king of Fortnite, joined The Island along with the popular Viking Outpost landing spot with his majestic beard and horned Nordic helmet. Even if the horns poke out when you’re stealthing, if you want the legendary skin that has you looking and feeling like a Norse God then it’s a great choice.

• Availability: With minimal appearances in the Item Shop, Magnus does turn up, but very much when he wants.

The Brat

Right, we’ve been serious for far too long now… how about a sausage? The Brat is one shining example of the fun that can be had with Fortnite skins. A hot dog in skinny jeans and shades. Sure, you’ll get spotted easier and maybe even make other players hungry, but it’s one of those Fortnite best skins that can turn a bad mood from a streak of losing games around with a mustard trail and some lettuce, quite frank-ly.

• Availability: Lots of random Item Shop appearances for The Brat and usually a fair amount of days apart. If you’ve got The Brat on the brain, grab it when he turns up.

The Reaper

You might do a double take on this John-Wick-before-John-Wick skin. It’s not John Wick, but it sure as heck looks like it. He’s based on him in an older, slightly tanned, slightly thicker hair and longer beard kind of way. For anyone who grabbed him during Chapter 1: Season 3, congratulations. Prayers were answered when John Wick, also on our list, came out in collaboration with John Wick: Chapter 3 and has occasionally appeared in the store ever since.

• Availability: John Wick is rare, but The Reaper is even rarer as he’s a 2018 exclusive. You’ll need to keep an eye out for the official Wick if you missed out.

Tsuki

‘Unpredictable and unforgiving’ sounds right for a Fortnite skin that’s part schoolgirl, part robot. Plus, if you’re not feeling the robot, Tsuki also comes with a human style, although far less recognizable than the OG. 2022 brought a Tsuki 2.0 with an insane amount of styles, and 2023 brought Designer Tsuki, proving that Epic Games knows she’s a popular choice.

• Availability: Tsuki has had a lot of item shop appearances since her release in 2019, so there’s always a chance you’ll be able to pick her or her bundle up at any time.

Leviathan

Leviathan is a sea monster skin with a fish bowl for a head and a piranha alien-looking fish that calls it home. It’s a unique skin and an early-day Fortnite favorite for players. It’s not as OG as the Renegade Raider, but it certainly offers something very different, and fortunately, it isn’t too hard to come by in the item shop.

• Availability: Leviathan emerges from the depths every so often. You’ll need to save up some V-Bucks for this one, but if you’ve got your heart set on this mythical creature, there’s hope.

Rex

Rex joined Fortnite as part of the Dino Guard but is widely regarded as the best skin in the set (we don’t talk about Bronto). There’s something about wearing Rex alongside the scaly back bling that makes it look like you’ve got a tiny dinosaur hitching a ride on you that makes this skin iconic. Dark Rex was released in Chapter 2, giving Rex a Boswer-esque vibe.

• Availability: Rex makes semi-regular appearances in the Item Shop.

Shadow Midas

Though an antagonist, Midas was the most popular Fortnite character in 2021. Inspired by a Greek God, the founder of GHOST and leader of SHADOW turns everything he touches into gold. So it’s not surprising that Midas’ skins are the most prolific ones in Fortnite, as he started the gold skin trend in the game. Shadow Midas sold well because of his popularity and the character’s immersive backstory, though players weren’t too pleased about the lack of Back Bling.

• Availability: Despite being a costly set without a Back Bling, players still go gaga over the Shadow Midas outfit. Typically, the purple Midas visits the store a couple of times a year, so players should keep their eyes peeled.

Midsummer Midas

If you’re after a more chilled-out version of the Shadow boss, then Midsummer Midas is the skin for you. He has a few customizable looks, so if you want him to have his tattoos on full display, then you can.

Black Widow

• Availability: Black Widow is now one of the rarest outfits in the item shop. She was last seen in the shop after being released in the Avengers Set in 2019. But she’s not unobtainable, so players must keep their eyes peeled and fingers crossed. The item shop is the only hope.

Merry Marauder

Happy Fortnite holidays with this wonderful gingerbread man, Merry Marauder. He somehow manages to look full biscuit with a tiny gingerbread back bling to boot, and while he’s clearly a skin lodged firmly in the holiday season, it’s one that many players have decided to run year-long. For the Merry Marauder, you’ll need to keep an eye on the item shop at a specific time of year. You can probably guess when…

• Availability: Unsurprisingly, Merry Marauder is a Holiday skin appearing in the item shop during December and early January each year.
• First appearance: Chapter 1, Season 1

John Wick

Who doesn’t love John Wick? Following the popularity of The Reaper, the iconic action hero finally appeared in Fortnite in his suave black suit with no frills attached. Fortnite players might usually like the bling and loud colors, but John Wick was an exception. He became one of the fan favorites thanks to his understated style – and handsome inspiration.

• Availability: John Wick’s outfit is extremely rare in Fortnite, hence its popularity. That said, he does make a return every now and then.

Special Forces

Most OG skins are too boring for Fortnite players’ tastes, but not Special Forces. Donned in a sophisticated police outfit with a stylish hat, this rare skin is undoubtedly worth the V-bucks. A well-styled scarf and a kind face complete this valuable outfit.

• Availability: Special Forces can return to the item shop, but it’s still one of Fortnite’s scarcest items. The understated skin only tends to come back around every few months at best, so grab it if you get the chance.

Lynx

Fortnite skin collectors adore their Lynx skin for the full-dark tier-7 cat lady wardrobe. Rumored wife of Meowscles, Lynx is a rare skin. So, those who own it can wear it with pride.

• Availability: Lynx is sadly no longer available. She could be obtained via Chapter 1: Season 7 battle pass at tier 1.

Black Knight

• Availability: Released in December 2017, Red Knight is now unavailable. It could be unlocked after a sweaty battle pass grind at Tier 70. But, players can no longer purchase it from the item shop.

Golden Peely

In February 2019, Epic did the unthinkable and rolled out a giant yellow banana as an outfit. It was ridiculous, but it worked; the 2019 Fortnite banana fever was proof. Peely was a massive success, urging the devs to release the Agent Peely skin, which turns golden at Level 300. Players dressed in hilarious golden bananas still stand out in Fortnite games crammed with superhero skins.

• Availability: Unfortunately, Agent Peely is no longer purchasable, but players can shop for other variants like Potassius Peels, Toon Peely, and even Peely Bone. But the not-for-sale status of the Agent Peely skin is what makes it so rare, so those who shopped it in 2020 consider themselves lucky – and skilled.

Galaxy

Galaxy was the ultimate Holy Grail for skin collectors. The outfit was fashioned on a green screen lit up with an actual galaxy, making it a class apart. Glittering in stars and space, this chart-topping skin is now like gold dust in Fortnite.

• Availability: Galaxy isn’t rare because it’s old or expensive. It’s rare because it was highly exclusive. The otherworldly skin could only be obtained using the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

Renegade Raider skin

Renegade Raider doesn’t look like much, but it’s still a highly coveted item that players would kill to have again. This outfit is proof that you’re not a seasonal Fortnite fan but have been around before it was cool. So, if you own a piece, keep it close. Your account is a pipe dream of any Fortnite fan.

• Availability: It’s no longer available and will likely never return. Renegade Raider is special because it existed before the inception of Battle Pass. Those with the skin had to play till level 20 to pay 1,200 V bucks and buy it.

Resident Evil

More recently, Fortnite has experimented with collaborations with various videogames. These include the likes of Doom, The Witcher, Assassin’s Creed, Street Fighter, and Tomb Raider, among many others. However, if you ask us which ones are the best, we have a soft spot for the Resident Evil skins.

Based on each main character’s appearance from numerous remakes, even the back bling is a nod to the games these skins originate from, such as Claire’s RPD key set and Leon’s attaché case back blings. Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine also got variants based on their appearances in Resident Evil: Village and Resident Evil 3 Remake, respectively, on top of costumes based on their STARS uniforms from Resident Evil.

• Availability: Sadly, neither Resident Evil bundle has reappeared since Leon and Claire’s debut, but they should be eligible to return to the Item Shop – perhaps when the next Resident Evil game gets released.

Marvel frequently appears in Fortnite with massive collaborations and in-game events, but that doesn’t mean that DC characters are completely sidelined, and the selection of DC Superhero and villain skins is perfect for fans. Sadly, those who like Superman probably missed the free giveaway a few years ago, but there are still plenty of other skins to choose from when they appear in the store. Futurama skins

If you want to kick shiny metal ass in style, look no further than these Futurama Fortnite skins. They use the same Matt Groening art style as the animated sitcom, and each comes with a back bling. Fry has the Hypnotoad, Leela has Nibbler, and Bender has Ben Rodríguez. In addition, there is a gear bundle with the Planet Express ship glider, several pickaxe variations, and the Zoidberg Scuttle emote (which is frankly terrifying).
