What are the best swords in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? The answer is not as straightforward as you might think, as the swords Henry of Skalitz can wield differ greatly in type and quality – even among swords of the same type. As a result, we’ve put together a list of all the swords we found in both the Trosky and Kuttenberg regions of Bohemia so you can choose the right one for you.
You’re going to want to pair your Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 sword with some equally good armor. Thankfully, we’ve also put together a list of the best armor in the RPG game to get you up and running in no time. Be warned: armors are just as complicated if not more than swords, so be sure to take a look to know what to keep an eye out for.
Best Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 swords
Best early swords
Once you’re free of the pillory, the only weapon you have is the Hunting Sword. The best way to get a better weapon is to either trade with Blacksmith Radovan for a Basilard or to follow the Mutt side quest to completion. This will not only get you your furry friend back, but you can loot a Broadsword in the wolves’ den where you find him.
If you’re more interested in two-handed longswords, purchase a Knight’s Longsword from Blacksmith Radovan, loot it from bandits you defeat, or wait until after the Wedding Crashers quest to access Trosky Castle. The Lord of Trosky Castle will tell you to speak with one of his men-at-arms to select a weapon for yourself; here, you can ask for a Common Longsword.
Best one-handed sword
The best one-handed sword in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is the Sword of Sir Valentine. This weapon can be crafted during The Reliquary task, obtained north of Sedletz Monastery in the Kuttenberg region.
If you craft it with the Martin’s Secret perk unlocked, it will have the highest masterclass quality and damage output of all one-handed swords. The Sword of Sir Valentine is a great weapon to pair with the Dominant Hand (Agility) and Back Alley Skirmisher (Thievery) perks, which give massive buffs if you use a one-handed sword without a shield.
Best longswords
For those truly knightly among you, you’ll want to get a hold of a longsword to enjoy the reach and power it provides. For much of the game, you’ll likely have a Common Longsword as your best weapon until you reach the Kuttenberg region.
Once you reach Kuttenburg, you can find the Duelling Longsword in various places, from tough bandit leaders to the Kuttenberg weapon smiths. Despite quest-related swords like Master Menhard’s Longsword requiring higher strength and agility stats to wield, a Duelling Longsword crafted with the Martin’s Secret perk still outpaces it.
